It is important to know how qualified your physician is. As a board certified surgeon, Dr. Taylor has specialized in treatment of vascular (vein and artery) disorders in private practice in Bellingham for over 25 years. As laser technology developed, he became a leader in applying new techniques in vein treatment and aesthetic procedures. In 2006 he opened Bayside Vein and Laser Center to make those procedures more available to patients in northwest Washington and the lower Fraser Valley.
Advancing technology has resulted in a new medical specialty of phlebology for treating vein disorders, officially recognized by the American Medical Association in 2007. Dr. Taylor was among the first group of physicians in the nation to earn board certification in phlebology. He is the only board-certified phlebologist in northwest Washington. He is an active member in the American College of Phlebology, the association of professionals setting the standards in this new specialty. As a donor to the Phlebology Foundation, he supports grants for research, training, and patient education.
In addition, Dr. Taylor is laser trained as a provider of aesthetic skin procedures and hair removal using pulsed light and laser. As an active member of The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, he keeps abreast of current research and developments in this frontier of medicine.
Dr. Taylor has enjoyed community involvement as a board member of several non-profit organizations, including Visiting Nurse Association. He has served as Chief of Staff at St. Joseph Hospital and chaired the Quality Assurance Committee at St. Joseph Hospital for two terms.
